From Summer Days to Halloween Weekend
It felt like summer yesterday and now, we're already at Halloween weekend. Time seems to pass us way too fast. One day you're canoeing on the lake under the blistering sun and then all of a sudden, you're taking pictures there before you head over to a Halloween party. Not to worry, I changed into a costume before I got there. Going back to the seasons, fall's been taking a while to mature this year, and the colors of the trees on the lake have yet to hit their peak. Although, it's just an absolute marvel of natural that trees so green can change to beautiful hues of red, yellow, and orange. You can witness this a little bit better on a lake because there's a whole array of trees lining it. Paired with the glistening water from the sunset, it's almost impossible to find a more gorgeous and simplistic place.
I got a new toy this weekend: the Canon 50mm prime lens. So far, I've been shooting using the kit lenses, but if you've seen the pictures taken by my friends Matt and Mitch in "A Trip to Cape May" or "A Different Man Than Yesterday," you'll see some stunning photography taken by the pair using the Nikon version of that lens. It's amazing how you can change up your whole camera by buying one new component. The lens allows me to take sharper shots with a much lower depth of field, which makes the subject stand out and is very useful for fashion photography. I shot today with my friend Alvaro, and I'm pretty satisfied with the results. As this was really my first day out with the 50mm, I still have a long way to go to perfect my skills with it. I'm just happy that we got to use it on the lake this time.
Today's Men's Outdoor Fashion
Today's outfit isn't just teen fall fashion or New Jersey fashion, it's also an outdoor look mixed with a bit of that dapper/preppy style. It begins with the gray men's padded vest that adds a warm layer in the chillier weather. Underneath that are a gray easy-iron shirt and a cozy shawl collar sweater. Having these three things on was the perfect combination to keep me warm and comfortable. Next, I have on a pair of men's classic denim, which I actually found in my older brother's closet. Following that is a pair of brown outdoor boots from Timberland. Believe it or not, these are really my dad's. Sometimes, if you do a bit of digging around your own house, you'll find some amazing things rather than going out to shop for them. The greatest finds are often right under your nose and these finds worked great for today's men's outdoor fashion.
