"Love your long legs because they're the only two you'll ever have."
Fashion evolves and grows as a whole but also on an individual level. Style takes years to develop and even when it has, there's still much more left to discover. Today's June fashion featured individual is Malik, a young streetwear enthusiast. He wasn't always this way though, resenting fashion as a kid and wanting to just get dressed as quickly as possible in order to play. His parents had a feeling that eventually Malik would take an interest in apparel some day, but he didn't entirely believe them. Then, Malik hit his teenage years where changes to who he was changed his interest in fashion too. Malik began to ask his parents for new clothes and shoes especially Nike's and Jordan's proving their previous hunch about their son correct. It just goes to show that we never really know what the next couple of years have in store for us and that sometimes, our parents do know what they're talking about.
When we're put in front a crowd we have two choices: to let our fears take over or face them. Not everyone's born with a drive to just take the spotlight, but it can be taught over time with proper exposure. Today's April and spring streetwear fashionista is Yasmeen who's the sister of blog regular, Sarah. However, the younger comes with her own story to tell which is one of growing acting experiences. Yasmeen has developed a love of performing and acting. It's one of few things that allows her to up and counter her shyness. By speaking in front of large crowds, this puts her out of her comfort zone. We applaud her because a life lived out of the comfort zone is a progressive one.
Growing up, if there was one mode of transportation that never failed when you couldn't find a ride, it was a bike. Yet for many kids, it's more than just two wheels because biking can become an exciting sport in the form of BMX. Showing off his spring street fashion is Zach, an avid BMX rider who's been in love with it for as long as he can remember. His main environment for his passion is the street using handrails, curbs, stairs, ledges, and banks to create new challenges. In Zach's case, one man's neighborhood is another man's obstacle. Although indeed a little bit dangerous, the thrill of a new trick to be learned is why Zach has become so involved in this discipline.
Presented today and back again is the skate and fashion brand Diskko who's been working around the clock both domestically and internationally to grow their brand. Currently in the works is their April drop including a few of the awesome pieces seen in this shoot. Talking about the brand today is Hunter, the creative director. He's in charge of all company designs and products including the new Cherry Blossom Long Sleeve Tee and Fade 6 Panel Cap. Yet, he's more than just sharing his latest design. Hunter's also given an insight to what Diskko means for him, the struggles, the workload, and the sweetest parts of working for a growing company.
